A Potpourri of Poetry

A collection of poems ranging from sad to optimistic, and some poems with a bit of banter as well. Reader's comments on poems are welcome.

cps blues

blur the little image unfilled
with easy candy pills
my sweet tiny baby
i'd see her if i weren't so lazy
after my horrendous busy day
    picked up my brother
    stopped by my mother's
    met my ex-lover
    called my worker
who said my baby's mother is a drugger
they don't know me
they can't show me
how my neighbor naomi
is a better mother
devoid of love
when meeting her babies' needs
beaten in front of her
cowering pups
whipped by the passer of seed
she puts up with

smoldering red angst
under a pale face
paid his dues
back in that place
don't deserve that lady
on his case
she asked for it
    lounging and sleepin'
    naggin and yellin'
    kickin and scratchin'
    spendin' his money
he spewed like a volcano
sure some things have been shady
his dad was like that though
and he never hurt a baby
