Poetic Rules

Rules are for fools
and students of schools
If I rhyme
It's 'cause it pops in my mind
Don't like my cadence?
Beat it with a meter stick!
Don't like my semantics?
Perhaps your too literal
or too figurative
(Would that be hour-glass or phallic?)
Silly syllables of alliteration?
Tongue twists are titillating
to me
So giggle with me
or wiggle to absency
My sugar and fluff
make you say
"Enough's enough"
That will do fine
Reader's choice
is to turn the page
The pleasure
was already mine
